When we choose our aims in life, it’s important to accept that we have little or no control over most things. Instead, focusing on the areas we do have influence over is more useful and creates more contentment. We are free to choose our values and how we want to develop our character.

It can be useful to imagine that it’s your ninetieth birthday and ask yourself:

  • What changes in the world would I like to have been a part of?
  • What type of person do I want to have become?
  • What would I like to hear others say about me?

What are your strengths, skills, and abilities? How would you like to use them today for a great 90th birthday?

“Waste no more time arguing what a good man should be. Be One.” - Marcus Aurelius

"One's life has value so long as one attributes value to the life of others." Simone de Beauvoir"

"Freedom is what you do with what is being done to you." Jean-Paul Sarte

Being human is a complex and difficult process. Each one of us trapped in our unique, ethereal, creative, wonderful mind. We crave connection and understanding, but each moment is ours alone. If we are fortunate, we will love and be loved.  Our time is short, and we struggle to create meaning and purpose for our life. We may be lucky and have opportunities to do useful things.

Humans can now communicate in real time across the world. Each of us are like neurons forming a global mind. When we are kind, curious, honest and share our knowledge and ideas with others we are making good use of our time and doing our  part to help create a brighter future for all.
